DIY Solar - even in Wales!
The BioDesign solar DIY project allows you to make your own panels for as little as $1 for a 1 watt panel - which is enough to power some modest DIY LEDs. Plenty of solar power lying around, even if you live in Wales.
The Solar DIY is especially taking hold in Africa, where the power grid is well behind demand. Kenya, for instance, may never have full power in its remotest areas. Cell phones are popular in such areas, but hard to recharge without solar power. This project lets people basically build their own Solio.
