Mukluk Stockists

Mukluk2You’ve got your Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket, but what should you spend it on? Well judging by the amount of you who’ve told us off for disliking Mukluks, you want big fluffy boots to keep you warm for the rest of winter (just like Kate Moss, Beyonce, Paris Hilton and everyone else in celeb-land). But where can you buy them online? We’ve searched for the best stockists of the cult rabbit fur mocassin-based boot (and it’s more animal-friendly fakes). Many sites stocking the genuine article still have waiting lists or are sold out, but keep checking back for new stock and you might get lucky.

Read on for the stockists list (it's far too long to put on the main page!)

GENUINE FUR MUKLUKS:

It’s worth trying smaller Canadian manufacturers, as they make good quality Mukluks but aren’t pandering to fashionistas just yet, so you can sometimes get a bargain if they ship internationally.

Genuine Mukluks £325 at Browns (arriving in Jan)
Genuine Mukluks £325 / $614 at Net a Porter (currently sold out)
Genuine Mukluks $395 at Kitson (next shipment 14th Feb)
Genuine Mukluks $475 at Personal Shoper
Large selection of Canadian-made Mukluks for around $200 US

Miz Mooz Eskimo Mukluk $ 115 at Shoe Parlor
Sa-Cinn Authetic Mukluks $299 CA (April '05 delivery)

FAUX FUR COPIES:

Steve Madden ‘Eskimmo’ $149.95
Faux Fur & Suede effect boots £40 from ASOS

I agree with you, they are truly ugly. It's the most popular style of shoe at the moment. Most girls are wearing them! Ugh!

Told off for disliking them? Urgh! I think people need telling off for liking them. THey really cant have seen the ad with the poor Bunny skinned alive for its fur...probably for those freaking boots! :(

Laydeez in the US - if you wear these things you are obviously not familiar with the UK teenage phenomenon, the 'Chav'. Most commonly seen in a Juicy Couture rip-off and Burberry baseball hat (Eeeooow!) pushing a double baby buggie and trailing a big dog by the lead, they adore these boots and are quite sufficient to drive those of us who are further up the foodchain in quite the opposite fashion direction. Be warned - the Chav effect can take you unaware and prevent you from ever getting a good table reservation again.

my girlfriend wants those boots. I told her they were real rabbit fur. She said not for $130, they couldn't be. She then said, even if it is real, they don't kill them, just shave them...like sheep. Anybody know the answer to this or where to find it???? Thanx.

Anyone who thinks rabbit fur is ever shaved... No, they kill them. Rabbits are raised for their meat and hide--just like cattle are--and have been for years. Funny thing that people find the idea of bunnies being killed for their fur as cruel, but I haven't read any comments re. the cow hide (suede) being used to make these boots, or that it was cruel to kill/skin those cattle. Which are also often still alive (albeit dazed) at the time they are butchered, btw. So really the making of all boots or leather products would involve cruelty to animals to some degree, even boots without rabbit hair.

Well, I think these boots look ok.
And definetly warm enough for Canadian winters.
So i'm in!

(Although I'm not too fond of real fur, so faux fur would be the best choice for me)

I absolutely love them - if anybody has ever tried them? - they are the most comfortable thing EVER!
