Teal Triple Capacitor Necklace

Teal_capacitor_product_image

Okay, so you're having a picnic. And it starts to rain, so you duck under a nearby tree. And you're struck by lightning. Fortunately, you're wearing your Teal Triple Capacitor Necklace which converts the strike into usable energy and instead of incinerating you, powers up your iPod and fills it with a remix of Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite as rendered by Deltron 3030. All this can be yours for only €30 (with matching earrings for another €13). [GT]

MopodThe worst thing about mobile phones is the stupid ring tones (crazy frog, I'm looking at you and Dom Joly, you're next on the list) that the general public are forced to endure everytime a phone rings. The characters live in domes which can sit on your desk or bag and will light up, spin and flash to alert you that there is an incoming call. By Shiny Forum request: a gold and platinum USB drive from LG

Gold_platinum_usb_drive Our Shiny Shiny Forum is proving to be a worldwide smash hit after its first 48 hours online (well, there are people posting from across the world), and one of our hot topics at the moment asks what you'd like to see more of from us. And to prove we listen, this post is dedicated to Julia, who asked for more cute USB drives.

Now admittedly, you have to look hard for the cuteness in a solid gold and platinum USB drive, but it's there. What could be more cute than carrying around your documents in something worth more than my entire house. Come on. That's cute. As for money, if you have to ask, you can't afford it apparently. Julia, I hope you're a saver, because this one's for you. [Via BornRich]

Lipgloss for your mobile phone, kinda

LipglossI'm reliably informed by those over at Kiss and Make Up that lipgloss is back, and that I'd better get used to it (underneath that bronzer they're quite frightening girls). "But" I wailed "my bag is already full of phones and charges and cameras and SD cards. I have no room". "Never fear" said they "just afix this lipgloss charm to your phone" (as they had mellowed a bit when they saw my distress). To which I replied "I hate phone charms, but someone reading ShinyShiny might like them, so I will spread the news". Which is how you ended up reading this post.  They're a mere $5 for 8 mini glosses. [Via TechieDiva]

O Sakana Mouse POI

Mgfuryl1

I don't know how ergonomic this mouse is, but then, it's not intended to be a mouse so much as a fish, and any fish you can steer your computer with is already far more ergonomic than any fish in my house. The O Sakana Mouse POI is an adorable little gadget from Elecom available in metallic primary blue, red and yellow, and it's squinty wisdom will substitute for the zen garden you forgot at home and then they turned into a cat box. No word on price or availability, but just sit here and gaze into its eyes for a while and you'll find satori. [GT]

IFA 2006: Harman Kardon Go + Play iPod speaker system

Harmonkardon_plugIt may look like someone lopped the head off an innocent robot, but the Harman Kardon Go + Play is actually a speaker set that you can pop your iPod into. It's designed so that your iPod will lie flat in the top part, which certainly looks a lot neater than the usual poking-out-the-top look. The sound is boosted by a combination of "bi-amped digital amplification", "DSP (digital sound processing)" and "Ridge and Atlas transducers" all of which probably means a lot to you musos who know about sound technology. You can control your player using the remote from up to 30ft away and it also connects via S-video to your TV if you want to watch your video clips on a bigger screen.  In shops for Christmas, the Harman Kardon Go + Play will be priced around €349 (around £235).

Houseparty iPod 'mood enhancer' speakers

Houseparty_1Hang on, didn't PodGear have an iPod speaker set called the HouseParty? As if all these millions of iPod speakers don't confuse me enough already, Gear4 has to release one with the same name.

GEAR4's HouseParty 24/7 is apparently an 'around-the-clock mood enhancer'. It does all the usual iPod dock, charger and speakers business we've come to expect, plus it will apparently enhance your mood, which is no mean feat. Also includes an AM/FM radio and comes in white or black. There are two 6W speakers plus a 12W subwoofer and ActiveBass 2.1 technology and it costs £99.99.
