Sushi USB KeY
Combining two of the things that the Japanese love best: technology and food (they've got their priorities straight over there, oh yes) these USB memory keys from Solid Alliance (the same crazies who brought us the USB Duck keys) have got plastic sushi stuck to them. Maybe there's some sort of plastic sushi mountain over in Japan at the moment, because they seem to be slapping the stuff on everything at the moment - remember the sushi clock from JBox?

6000 yen for the 32MB version and 8200 yen for the 128MB version aka very expensive compared to "normal" flash memory

not a bad price at all when you check the price of plastic sushi.
i always wanted a placky sushi collection when i was living in nihon, but even a bit of maguro on gohan was like ¥2500-3000!
besides, unless you had a usb hub, those lumps sticking out the side of yer p-book would be a pain in the bum.
then again, sushi may well be the new black.

We are in Tokyo on vacation, and have been looking for these on the street, with no luck- have gotten some very funny reactions though. Many vendors seem to think we are trying to pull their leg (crazy tourists!). We just thought it would be a great souvenir to take home!

Indigo, you can buy plastic sushi at a culinary accessories shop in Asakusa, I believe it's actally listed in the Rough Guide. It sells plastic food of many kinds, in fact, but I'm afraid I just can't remember the name of it... good luck! Asakusa has lots of great stuff for sale in the street approaching Senso-ji temple, (check out the Totoro shop at the entrance to the street), so a trip there would certainly not be in vain...

Just make one. Buy rubber sushi, stick a usb key inside. Then you don't have to blow sixty bucks on a useless 32mb of storage.
