Boyfriend silencer

Sick to death of your boyf/hub wittering on about women being crap map readers? Shut him up permanently by getting a little gagdet help. Invest in satellite navigation for the car and when he takes the wrong turning you can blame the odd-sounding woman who barks out the instructions from the device.

The latest navigation systems come in small handheld computers, which is good because when you aren't following their turn-by-turn instructions in the car you can use them to store your contacts and play music.

Latest to arrive is the £449 PiN from Navman. It looks like a normal PDA other than it has a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver is hidden at the back and flips up skywards.

Once you activate the Navman SmartST™ V2 software and you get your exact position on the 3D map view while turn-by-turn voice instructions guide you through the highways and byways of Europe (maps for 15 European countries include on CD Rom).

And because it’s a compact, lightweight wireless solution you can use it in the car (dashboard mount supplied) or walk around the city streets.

The PiN is also a neat handheld PC (it uses the Microsoft Windows Mobile system) able to store your contacts (you can also navigate to your stored addresses) and keep lunch and business appointments. There’s also a built in MP3 player for tunes on the move. A 128MB memory card is supplied and the PiN is available in June, priced £449.
