Economist carbon-offsets global warming issue

Economist090806_1Rather than just talk about what they're doing to the environment, this issue of the Economist went out and did something about it.  They calculated the carbon burned from the travel, production, printing and distribution of the issue and had Carbon Neutral offset it into a mine in the US - all for a scant £600.  More on this at Ad Age, but it just goes to show that doing your thing for the planet is well within reach for even heavy-paper-using industries like publishing.   [GT]

The heat is on at the Economist
