The Land Heritage Education Centre for Farming & Food Phase 1
Land Heritage is a national charity which goes around buying small farms in order to upgrade them to organic status. Their latest big project is at Summerhill Farm in mid Devon, where they've brought 127 schoolchildren in on organic farming activities. They now have full modern WCs, including one with disabled access, and are on the verge of initiating a solar power programme which will allow them to not only be self-sufficient, but to sell power back to the grid. It's an expensive but extremely worthwhile project, so if you've got a few quid left over after all the summer sales, donating it to Land Heritage is an excellent gift to the future. [GT]
