Lessons in Play: simple high-craft toys
Lessons in Play takes a leaf from old-school (as it were) toys and focuses on high-quality, hand-made, heirloom-grade devices that allow the child's imagination to take flight in a way that modern toys don't. "If children are given a Spiderman outfit then they can only be ‘Spiderman’ whereas a simple vibrant coloured silk allows the child’s imagination to bring a whole host of superheroes alive." Alternatively, give them classics like the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse for £65. [GT]
