Plant-me pet biodegrades when you're tired of looking at it
After you plant it, that is. Designed by Martí Guixé, these little squeaky toys come in tomato, melon and pumpkin - once you bury them and the eyes sprout, that is. So, say you have a dog that likes to bury the gewgaws you buy for him, this would be ideal - it'll vanish and then a few months later you'll know where it went. (via PopGadget)
Available for €19.66 from MadeByMyMum (a curious name for a site that's otherwise nearly all in Dutch). The body is made from latex, which will magically feed the little growing life form as it evolves into something yummy. [GT]

Uhh...don't the eyes come off within 30 seconds after the dog starts chewing it? From the product photos, I am sure that every dog I've ever had would totally decimate this toy quickly. Even if the seeds somehow remain attached surely they'd be pierced and damaged such that they wouldn't germinate. Only possibility there is if they are swallowed whole and pass through undigested and the material is not pooper-scooped and put into a nondegradable plastic bag and then into a dumpster.... If you want to garden heck just buy some seeds, and give your dog a dog biscuit to chew on. This product seems utterly ridiculous and useless.

The plant-me-pets are not dog toys (but can surely be used by dogs as suggested). And useless? Probably. As most funny stuff ;-)
Oh, and by the way: The site is in Danish. Not that I think it makes a difference to most non-Danes ;-)
