Kiss My Face "Almost Butter"

Almost_butter_fs

Veteran natural beauty product company Kiss My Face sent me over a tube of their new squishy Almost Butter for evaluation.  Comes in a 177ml tube, aimed at "dry chapped skin", "Rosemary Melon" scent which basically smells like a Creamsicle.  100% biodegradeable, no parabens, and "99.9% natural ingredients" (although we all know 'natural' is meaningless).  The cap is hard plastic, so why they don't make it out of recycled plastic I have no idea.  They ask you nicely to recycle the tube.  But, on to the stuff itself.

I have a condition called "multiple chemical sensitivity", which basically means anything with an unnatural smell (including the bottom of your fridge but I'm generally talking synthetic scents and chemicals) can make me incredibly sick.  On the sick scale, this stuff is not too bad - it is too strong for me to use regularly but not too strong for me to be around.  I generally like Kiss My Face, for all that they're large and corporate, because their prices are decent and their products are easy to come by if I'm travelling - knowing I can pop out of any decent-sized grocery store and get an unscented cake of olive oil soap for about £2 is very reassuring.  But too much of their stuff isinsanely strongly scented.  This is milder than usual, but still.  I realize "Aromatherapeutic" is one of their marketing points, but, well, damnit, I wish they'd stop.

Aside from that, the moisturizer itself is pretty good.  I put a small amount on my feet and put some cotton socks overtop and it did do a good job on silking up my hard little heels, as one would expect from a mix of jojoba, cocoa butter, olive oil and shea butter.  Which just made me sulky.  How dare they make such a lovely moisturizer and then contaminate it with 'Rosemary Melon'?

Hmm... I wonder what Rosemary Melon tastes like?

Hey, that's nice.  Tastes like Creamsicle in a tube.
