No Excuse! Cloth Nappy Campaign

EcologistOnline
has a No Excuse! Cloth Nappy Campaign where for £24 you get nappies from Motherease, Tots bots and Popolino, 1 pack of flushable and bio-degradable liners, and 1 waterproof outer wrap.  Ring up 01795 414 963 (Monday to Friday, 9.30- 17.30) and say you're calling about the Cloth Nappy Trial pack. According to them, eight million disposable nappies are thrown out every day in the UK alone.  Cloth nappies used to be a difficult commitment for even the most ecologically minded person to make, but apparently the modern ones are much more effective and easier to keep clean.  And at that price, it's worth thinking about.

I have a 6 month old baby girl myself, and being very environmentally conscious, I spent ages weighing up the options in the cloth vs disposable debate. And what I found is that hands down, cloth nappies are better for the environment, better for the baby and better for the hip pocket!

I was worried about leaks from traditional terry square nappies, but discovered that there are now fitted cloth nappies available. They are called modern cloth nappies, and basically, they are shapped like a disposable with elastic legs and velcro around the waist, but washable cloth.
In my experience, they leak less than disposables!

I have started a webisite with heaps of information about them, which you can see at:
