Recycled kids stuff takes off
Around the country, hundreds of mothers (including me!) prepare for this weekend's National Childbirth Trust's Nearly New Sale in their local areas, where toys and clothes are given a new home. If you are unable to get to a NCT sale, then you may be on the lookout for other eco-friendly purchases for your little angel. I'm sure they'll love this giant recycled cardboard rocket, and the old adage about children preferring the boxes that toys are packed in is certainly true.
The cardboard rocket is made by Paperpod who have created a range of designs made from recycled cardboard, including chairs, a dolls house, a wendy house and the paperpod. At £28.95, you may well think that a rocket made out of cardboard is a bit pricey. Paperpod however assure us that their designs are robust and cleverly engineered to last. The children will love decorating the products and they are easy to fold and store. Of the course the best bit is the minimal effect on our environment - when the rocket has had its last crash landing then it can be recycled again. [Ella]

Okay, I get your point! I did say it was a bit pricey! A friend of mine said that they had one of these rockets at a children's party. The kids really enjoyed painting it and then played with it for ages afterwards. So perhaps the cost was justified here - some people spend a fortune on parties (balloon modellers, pinata's etc etc) and at least this is recycled and recyclable.
